Position Summary:

The Recruiter is responsible for designing and implementing a full cycle recruiting strategy, from sourcing to acceptance of staff using creative sourcing methods (internal and external). This position will recruit for various levels and positions across multiple disciplines and geographies and work closely with business leaders to provide workforce planning forecasts which drive the goals of this position. 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs full cycle recruiting including sourcing, screening, salary negotiation, background checks and DOT pre-employment requirements.
  • Possesses expert knowledge of company information for recruiting candidates including hiring areas, positions available, equipment knowledge, and compensation packages available to candidates.
  • Screens applicants, interviews qualified candidates, conducts background checks, processes Motor Vehicle Reports, and insures compliance with all DOT and company hiring standards (as needed). Makes recommendations for hire and delivers employment offers for both exempt and non-exempt openings.
  • Communicates with prospective candidates throughout the recruiting process important employment information – benefits, compensation information, DOT requirements – ensuring quick response time. 
  • Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, and social media to identify and attract quality candidates.
  • Partners with hiring manager to determine staffing needs and assist in writing job descriptions.
  • Responsible for working with business needs to provide staffing forecast dashboards, as well as comparative data on results vs. forecasts, taking into account workforce balancing requirements for work peaks and valleys.
  • Responsible to maintain, analyze and report recruiting data and metrics including weekly recruiting progress reports to management.
  • Creates, develops and manages candidate activity in an applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Works with hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal.state laws and regulations.  
  • Maintains accurate and confidential use of records including all personnel transactions within the HRIS system and required files.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Human Resources, Business or related field.
  • 2+ years of recruiting experience required.
  • DOT experience strongly preferred.
  • Work experience in trucking, oil and gas industry, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Strong verbal, written and listening communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Office environment. Includes use of HRIS systems.
  • Team-player and demonstrates a sense of urgency.
  • Extremely versatile and able to manage multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously.
  • Skilled with using social networking and strong internet sourcing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 30% of the time.

prairie lng logo 110x110Liquefied Natural Gas Plant Technician (LNG Specialist)

Position Summary:

Under supervision of the Operations Manager, the Liquefied Natural Gas Plant Technician is responsible for the support of existing plant equipment, commissioning for new equipment, and transportation of product from LNG plant to customer sites. This plant position operates indoors and outdoors in the elements year-round, as well as from transport trailers and service vehicles. Additionally, the LNG Plant Technician will be called upon to support occasional projects and operation of field activities. This is a rotating on-call position and will require daily check-in and hands-on repair and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and mechanical equipment. This is a frontline position and requires daily interaction with customers as well as coordination with third party vendors and contractors as needed.

This position is well suited to an individual with strong electrical/instrumentation skills and a background in maintenance and operations, as well as holding a commercial driver license. Experience with industrial plant operation is a plus.

Position Scope, Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Become familiar with LNG plant and equipment construction and installation requirements
  • Execute the LNG facility operation and maintenance plan
  • Schedule and complete periodic maintenance on equipment as required by schedule or inspection
  • Hands-on repair and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and mechanical equipment
  • Support facilities compliance with NFPA 2 and other applicable standards for natural gas fueling installation
  • Operate the LNG plant as needed (LNG plant operation training available and required)
  • Develop skill set in operating all LNG fueling infrastructure
  • Responsible for loading, transporting, and unloading cryogenic liquid bulk transport trailers (LNG loading and unloading procedure training available)
  • Participate in field commissioning of equipment as needed
  • Implement, coordinate and track a maintenance program to ensure maximum reliability of LNG equipment
  • Tracking and data entry for scheduled and unscheduled work orders
  • Rotating first point of contact on operational issues and provide emergency response support for incidents
  • Work with third party contractors and build relationships with current vendors
  • Ensure facility documents and records are kept up to date and satisfy North Dakota LNG health and safety plan
  • Track operation and maintenance consumables as well as critical spare parts and maintain inventory as needed
  • Become familiar with local, state and federal requirements as they relate to LNG mobile trailer-mounted equipment and transportation
  • Take direction from off-site engineers and technical support to successfully troubleshoot problems
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Experience Required:

  • Must have valid commercial driver license with hazmat and tanker endorsements or be able to obtain within 30 days
  • Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills required
  • Must demonstrate excellent safety standards
  • Background in project management, operations and/or maintenance in the oil and gas industry
  • Ability to manage time and work independently
  • Background knowledge in engineering with an equipment design background and related computer skills is a plus
  • Strong computer and data analysis skills
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of LNG industry a plus
  • Standard field- and plant-based EHS training required

Familiarity with the Following is Advantageous:

  • Instrumentation air systems (i.e., compressors and associated components and piping)
  • Air dryer systems
  • Valve actuators (pneumatic and solenoid)
  • Position feedback components (i.e., limit switches and positioners)
  • Electric heaters
  • Pressure relief valves
  • Programmable logic controllers (PLC)
  • Circuit breakers, fuses, motor contactors
  • Cryogenic valves and piping

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Must be physically able to reach and work on elevated surfaces, confined spaces, lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in local weather conditions
  • Rotational on-call position and weekends
  • Travel will be required for your position
  • May work extended hours on occasion
  • Must be legally entitled to work in the United States – ability to travel to Canada
  • Pre-employment drug/alcohol testing, subject to random testing and post accident

The ideal tanker team member meets the following criteria:

  • Must be 21 or older for any position requiring a CDL. (http://www.dot.nd.gov/divisions/driverslicense/docs/class_c1.pdf)
  • Three-year tanker or five-year tractor trailer experience or combination of such experience in oilfield terrain (icy and muddy roads).
  • Clean MVR with no DUI/DWI convictions, no more than 3 moving violations in the last 5 years and no more than 1 moving violation in the last 12 months.
  • Have current medical card, OSHA 10 or Safe Land and H2S certifications
  • Have experience driving an 18 speed transmission – must pass a drive test
  • Be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test and background investigation
  • Free of any convictions of a violent or sexual nature
  • Free of felony convictions in the last 10 years
  • Free of any county, state or federal registry or watch list requirements

Compensation:

Drivers can earn up to 31% of barrel rate and ancillary charges. Starting percentage based on tenure, experience and shift.

Eligible for medical, vision and dental insurance after 60 days of employment.

Housing provided at no cost.

The Mechanic is responsible for the full range of large engine maintenance and repair needed to keep all vehicles and equipment in good running condition. Maintain diesel equipment operation by completing inspections and preventative maintenance requirements. Correct vehicle deficiencies; making adjustments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Determine vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests; identifying worn and damaged parts.
  • Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules; installing component and part upgrades, completing winterization procedures.
  • Correct vehicle deficiencies by removing, repairing, adjusting, overhauling, assembling, disassembling, and replacing major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, parts or systems, such as power and drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel, emission, brake, steering and hydraulics.
  • Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
  • Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements by testing engine, safety, and combustion control standards.
  • Maintain vehicle records by annotating services and repairs.
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Contain costs by using warranty; evaluating service and parts options.

Requirements

  • Previous experience with semi-trailer repair and maintenance required.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds repeatedly.
  • Ability to climb 50 feet repeatedly.
  • Free of any conviction of a violent or sexual nature
  • Free of felony conviction in the last ten years.
  • Free of any county, state or federal registry or watch list requirement.
